Born in Douglas, Ga., and coming from Douglas, she had been a resident of Putnam County for the past 41 years, having also lived in Interlachen and Palatka. She had been employed as a security guard with Burns Security at Georgia-Pacific Corp., in Palatka for the past four and a half years. She was a former member of the Interlachen Lions Club. She enjoyed the internet. She was a Baptist.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewitt and Hazel Rice; and grandparents, Reason and Dolcie Harper and Bud and Lillie Rice.
She is survived by her aunts, Vera Burkett of Douglas, Ga., and Arlene Webb of Toccoa, Ga.; uncles, Buddy Burkett of Douglas, Ga., and Curtis Rice of Hartwell, Ga.; fiancee, Bob Rinehart of Pomona Park; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Rev. Melton Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 25 Apr 1997.)
