Mr. JAMES BROWN, an aged resident of Pleasant Valley, was found dead in a cornfield Tuesday morning. Mr. Brown had been cutting corn for James T. Gordon and did not go in to supper but continued at his work. He did not come home in the evening and his family started a search which was continued through the night, but the body was not found until daylight. He had gotten to the fence at the edge of the cornfield on his way home. Heart trouble is supposed to have been the cause of his death.

The deceased was about 67 years old and is survived by a wife and two children - Wallace, in Missouri, and Cora, at home.

He had been employed by the B&O Railroad Company as a bridge carpenter for many years. A short time ago he was retired on the pension list on account of old age.

Interment was made in the cemetery at Brownsville, Thursday.
