Mother married John Blue in 1936. They met when he applied for a job at her father's sign shop. Many years later Daddy designed the Vista Village sign, still standing.
My parents lived in Boise and Spokane, then returned to Boise where their only child was born. During the war years we lived in Portland and Seattle, and then settled in Boise. Among several houses my father built was the one Mom has lived in for 60+ years on the Whitney bench.
In 2005, Mother recovered from a broken femur and even drove again. She stayed with us 5 months. This past November, we invited her to live with us, to which she said, "I don't think I'm ready yet". I, Carol Adams, and my husband, David, loved having her at our home, and we feel so blessed!
Mom was doing well, but pneumonia took her very quickly on February 24. In 1958, my father was tragically taken from us. Having my mother this long has been a great gift.
Family members preceding her in death were three sisters, little Marie, Esther Kuntz, Evelyn Richard; and three brothers, Art, Paul, and John. The youngest is Dorothy Hodneland, who lives in Washington.
Our daughter and her family moved back to Boise in August, cause for celebration! Grandma B so loved her grandchildren, Rodney Adams and Shauna Adams Strauch, also her great-grandchildren, Krista, Sarrah, Emily and Megan Strauch. We appreciate all that Shauna's husband, David, has prepared for the video of Mom's life.
Our family gratefully wishes to thank the staff at St. Alphonsus, North Tower 5th floor for the excellent and loving care given to my mother.
For many years, Mother has enjoyed worship and fellowship times at our church. It was a big part of her life.
