Per the Waco Texas Ranger Museum on May 3, 1921 at the age of 36 he enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a Private in Co. "B" at Fort Worth under Capt. Tom Hickman. His occupation was listed as "Ranch Hand" at this time. He participated in the raid at Mexia in early 1922. He reenlisted Co. "B" May 3, 1923 and was discharged July 16, 1923.
He was killed in an auto accident on November 3, 1942 at the age of 60. His death certificate says he was married and was a Civilian Guard.
