Bernice Hathaway was born in Groom on Jan. 31, 1925, to Homer and Lola Baty Cranmer. She attended Groom Public Schools, graduated in 1943 and married Arthur "A.V." Hathaway on Feb. 3, 1946.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, H.R. Cranmer; and a sister, LaVerne Cranmer Fee.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Hathaway Pohlman and husband, Bob, of Belton; a son, Delbert Hathaway and wife, Louise, of Winnie; a brother, J.L. Cranmer and wife, Margie, of Amarillo; a sister, Narcesia Baker and husband, Harold, of Monroe, LA.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
