Ethel M. Brown, 81, of Petoskey, died Feb. 1, 1993, at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, Fla.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the Petoskey Assembly of God. Pastor Robert W. Holmes will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Petoskey.
She was born July 15, 1911, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Arthur and Effie (Clark) Barnes. The family moved to Charlevoix where she attended Charlevoix schools.
She married Charles R. "Dick" Brown on March 2, 1932, in Petoskey. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1991.
Mrs. Brown was known for her crochet work and rose garden at her Wesley Avenue home in Petoskey.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Peggy Nowland of Petoskey, Mrs. Garnett (Carol) Case of Plant City, Fla., Mrs. Jim (Judie) Gross of Bay City, Mrs. Terry (Kay) Piehl of Petoskey, and Mrs. Jim (Lorraine) Walth of Marietta, Ga.; one son, Richard Brown of St. Johns; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Wallace of Ocala, Fla. and Mrs. Joe (Erma) Deschermeler of Bay Shore; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, and from 11 a.m. until the service Friday, Feb. 5, at the Petoskey Assembly of God on Division Road.
Arrangements were handled by the Charles G. Parks Funeral Home of Petoskey.
