Taylors Oct. 5. - Funeral services for Jesse Merton Collins, 50, who died suddenly Sunday morning at Penton, Miss., will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the First Baptist church of Taylors and will be conducted y the Rev. M. O. Owens, who will be assisted by the Rev. J. E. Freeman. The interment will be made in the Taylors cemetery and the Taylors Masonic Lodge No. 345 of which he was a member will have charge of the services at the grave.
Mr. Collins was a well known and highly esteemed citizen of Taylors, and his sudden death will bring sorrow to a large circle of friends and relatives. He was a member of all the Masonic bodies and the Shrine temple at Birmingham, Ala., and was also a member of the Methodist church. Mr. Collins was connected with the Brooks-Callaway Construction company of Atlanta, and at the time of his death was superintendent of a job at Penton, Miss.
Surviving are his widow who was Miss Eva Hudson of Taylors, and two children, Clara and Frank Collins, both of Taylors, also one brother, A. B. Collins, of San Francisco, and a half sister, Mrs. Mary McClellon, of Monticello, Fla.
The following gentleman will be the active pallbearers and meet at the home at 3 o'clock, B. P. Tanner, J. D. Lock, L.L. Benson, J. H. McConnell, W. A. Hopkins and Ansel Alewine.
The following will be the honorary pallbearers and are requested to meet at the church promptly at 3:30, C. F. James, J.F. Freeman. Dr. W. Y. McDaniel, W. R. Smith, W. C. Stepp, F. A. Stepp, E. A. McConnell, W. C. Ayers, Dr. H. L. Brockman, J. L. Cannada, B. F. Flynn and R. H. Bridgman.
The body will be at the home near Chick Springs.
