The death of Dr. William Richards Evans occurred at his home in Danville Sunday after an illness of about five days. Dr. Evans was born in Mecklenburg county, Va., September 11, 1826, and was brought to Kentucky by his parents while still in his infancy. He was educated at Bacon College, Harrodsburg, and immediately began the study of medicine at the University of Louisville where he received his diploma in 1850. The following year he was appointed assistant demonstrator of Anatomy in his alma mater, in which capacity he served several years. He then began the practice of medicine in Louisville and later practiced in Harrodsburg. Some years ago he moved on a farm in the vicinity of Danville on account of his health. He later moved to Danville, where he became quite popular in his profession. He is survived by a wife and three children -- Mrs. John S. Robinson, of Mercer county, W. L. Evans, of Hustonville, and Judge A. F. Evans, Kansas City.
