Mr. Paul Furkin of Morgantown, Indiana, son of the late Rev. J. W. Furkin and Mrs. Josie Perkins Furkin, was born in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, April 25, 1895. He died at 3:00 a.m., Monday, December 19th at the Morgan County Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, Indiana after a long illness. He was 71. Besides his wife, he is survived by seven children: Mrs. Christine Rock of Chatham, Illinois, Mr. Howard Furkin and Mr. Wheeler Furkin both of Mason City, Illinois, Mrs. Earnestine Wilhelm of Louisville, Mrs. Josephine Moss of Columbia, Mrs. Myrine Shirley of Greensburg, and Mrs. Maxine Finley of Jeffersonville, Indiana; twenty grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three brothers and one sister: Rev. Roy Furkin of Auxanasse, Missouri, Raymond and James C. Furkin and Mrs. C. L. Bowen, all of Campbellsville. Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22nd in the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home by Rev. James E. Garrett. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clinton Tharp, Henry Sexton, Earl Netherland, James Gore, W. H. Burress, and Curt Nunn.
