Joe F. Drury was born November 24, 1894 in Carterville. His siblings include E. J. Drury of Bradenton, Florida and Mrs. Ethel Dennis of Granite City.

He was married to Pearl Blackwood, who died in 1953. He later married Louise Dillow. She survives.

Mr. Drury was a salesman and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Paul Stout Post 127 of the American Legion, and the Eagles Aerie 670, all in Murphysboro. He was also a member of the VFW post in Herrin.

Mr. Drury died at the age of 68 in the Marion Veterans Hospital after a long illness.
