Marinda Mareane Egginton was the daughter of Mark Mareane and Margaret Looney and was born in Owego, NY. She and her two sisters were orphaned in Seattle, Washington in 1900 and she was raised by her aunt and uncle in Elmira, New York. She married Oliver Jacob Egginton in Elmira, NY in 1907 and the couple eventually moved to Sonoma, California. Her husband was a paymaster for the Standard Oil Company in Richmond, California. Her Mareane ancestors were participants in the American Revolution and were the first settlers in Broome County, New York.
