Beatrice Wilkerson Autrey, 96, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, in Ennis, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2013, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with the Celebration of her Life to be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2013, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery.
Beatrice was born in Palmer, Texas, to the late George and Sallie (Richardson) Wilkerson. She was reared in Palmer and graduated from Palmer High School in 1935. On October 1, 1936, she was married to Walton LeRoy Lynn of McKinney. They moved to Ennis in 1942 where Mr. Lynn was employed by Southern Pacific Railroad. Beatrice was employed at The Banner Insurance Company in Ennis for 30 years, retiring in 1986. On October 8, 1986, she married Ernest Autrey, of Palmer, and they made their home in Ennis. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ennis, Rebekah Lodge #104, Charter member of Chapter #1571 AARP and was a charter member of the Golden Circle Senior Citizens of Ennis.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walton, on May 19, 1963.
She is survived by her son, Coy Gene Lynn and his wife, Glenda; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
