Owego: Dorothea (Dorothy) M. Kellogg Wolslegal, 99, born on April 15, 1911 in Owego to Elmer and Matie VanAuken Kellogg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Riverview Manor Health Care Center in Owego, after living nearly 100 years on this earth.

Dorothy graduated from Owego Free Academy in 1930, and went on to graduate from The University Of The State Of New York in Cortland, NY in 1936 and later came back to teach at the Owego Elementary School.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, John Victor Wolslegal; brother and sisters, Arthur Kellogg, Lillian Francis, Frances Moyka, and Myrtle Root; and nephew Rodney Kellogg.

Dorothy is survived by her nieces and nephews, ......; along with several great nieces and nephews.

Dorothy enjoyed teaching her students and still has keepsakes they made for her. She enjoyed winters in Florida with her husband, and after his death in 2004 was thankful to spend many years in her home with her devoted companions and caretakers, Jean Hill, Hilda Persons, Carol Hawes and Florence Hollenbeck, a special "thank you" to them and others that were with her for short periods of time. Also to the staff at Riverview, although her stay there was a mere two weeks.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego with Rev. Alan Jagger officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the United Methodist Church of Owego, 261 Main Street, Owego, NY 13827. www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com
