Funeral Services for Jacaline "Grandma" Brooks, age 77, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014, at 3:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ricky Emery and Rev. Steve Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Lanes Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-3:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2014.
Mrs. Brooks passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Roanoke Health Care.
Survivors include: three daughters, Shawn (husband, Greg) Mitchell of Roanoke, Kim (husband, Allen) Traylor of Roanoke, and Cindy Spivey of Roanoke; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brett Mitchell, Adam Traylor, Tyler Henderson, Russ Harper, Daniel Brown, and Cody Butler.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Brooks was born on May 15, 1936, the daughter of William Harvey and Rovie Idelle Gore Smith. She was a member of Community Life Church and was a retired maintenance worker at Candlewick Yarns. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William E. "Billy" Brooks; and one grandchild, Clay Yates.
The family is accepting flowers or, in lieu of flowers, requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimers Association.
