Well Known Retiered Farmer Dies Southwest of Lone Grove.

Rites for Jesse Newton, a retiered farmer and resident of this comunity since 1908, are to be held at 3 p. m. Tuesday in Lone Grove.
Newton died early at his home southwest of Lone grove. He is survived by four daughters, his wife, Virginia, having been dead 25 years.
Born in North Carolina March 11, 1861, Newton had belonged to the Southern Baptist church 52 years. Bettes funeral home is making the arrangements.

Funeral Held for Jesse Newton Cook

Funeral of Jesse Newton Cook, retired Carter County farmer and a resident of this community since 1908, was held Tuesday afternoon at Lone Grove.
He had been a member of the Southern Baptist church 52 years, and the rites were conducted by a minister of the faith. Burial was directed by the Bettes funeral home of the city.
Cook was 73 years old, and is survived by four daughters. His wife has been dead 25 years.
