(November 29, 1929 - February 22, 2013)

Barbara Hortin

Coalville – Barbara W Hortin, age 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on February 22, 2013. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho to LeRoy Wilson and Amy Seelos Wilson. They later divorced and Amy married Toby Shaw and they moved to Coalville. Mom married Hal Hortin and they had five children. Mom worked at various jobs throughout her life.

She was very involved in Senior Citizens, and at the time of her stroke, she was President of the Seniors, and this was a position she truly loved. The time she spent with the seniors was one of the highlights of her life.

Mom's hobbies included sewing, oil painting and gardening. Her grandkids loved getting her homemade pajamas and quilts. She took art classes for years and loved painting pictures for her family and home. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking big meals for her family. Spending time with family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids, was the biggest joy in her life.

She is survived by her children Sylvia (Fred) Mortensen, Scott (Lorale) Hortin, Lisa (Darby) Mclean and Jeff Hortin, 10 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren; her brother Robert Earl (Phyllis) Wilson and sister in law Roberta Frazier.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, husband, son Stan (Zeke) Hortin; granddaughter Tobie Mortensen; great-granddaughter Madison Wagstaff.
