Raymond was born a twin, June 8, 1923 in Yukon, Oklahoma the son of Benjamin and Rosa Ast. He died Saturday February 23, 2013 in Chickasha. Raymond grew up in Yukon with nine siblings. He attended and graduated Yukon High School. Raymond went on to attend Oklahoma University for 1 ½ years.
On January 15, 1946, Raymond married Cornelia "Connie" Lagaly. They had five sons: Leon, Gary, Gerald, Dwayne & Gene and four daughters: Jeanette, Karen, Patricia & Cecilia.
Raymond was a dairy farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and traveling the world.
He was preceded in death by: both parents, wife; Connie Ast and eight siblings including his twin sister.
Survivors include: One sister and nine children and their spouses: Hilda Dillingham of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Leon and Mary Ast of Pocasset, Oklahoma, Jeanette and Gary Sampley of Canute, Oklahoma, Karen Weldon of Markham, Texas, Gary and Annette Ast of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Patricia and L. Glen Weldon of Bay City, Texas, Gerald and Susan Ast of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Dwayne and Arleen Ast of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Cecilia and Steven Beauchamp of Lawton, Oklahoma and Gene Ast of Chickasha, Oklahoma; twenty four grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
