Roy Lee Cassada, 92, of Etowah, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

A native of Polk County and a resident of Etowah for most of his life, he was a member of North Etowah Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

A son of the late Cecil and Martha Cassada, he was preceded in death by his wife, Augusta Cassada; one grandson, Jason Whitney Cassada; one granddaughter, Michelle Cassada; and one daughter-in-law, Jane Cassada.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Carolyn Cassada of Athens, Stan and Joyce Cassada of Etowah, and Steve and Renee Cassada of Orange Park, Fla.; four granddaughters, Christina Peck, Crystal Cassada, Camille Cassada and Brooke Cassada; and three grandsons, Brandon Cassada, Josh Cassada and Austin Cassada.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Brother Mark Wade officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in McMinn Memory Gardens with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
