Alva Tupper Heintz, 97, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 1999. Born in Brunswick, Georgia, Alva moved to Jacksonville in 1909 and has lived here since. She was descended from Massachusetts colonists and settlers of Territorial Florida. Mrs. Heintz graduated from Duval High School and served as Senior Class Vice-President. She was a charter member of The Junior League of Jacksonville, a lifelong member of The Garden Club, a member of The Colonial Dames, and active in the Girl Scouts Council, the PTA of St. Paul's Catholic School, and the Cub Scouts. Alva was married to the late Frank J. Heintz in 1924 and attended St. Paul's Catholic Church in Riverside. Survivors include her son, Frank J. Heintz, Jr. (Catherine) of Ohio, her daughter, Alva Stone (John) of Jacksonville, 13 grandchildren: from Michigan, Frank J. Heintz III (Lourdes) and Ralph Heintz; from Ohio, Catherine Plichta (Jim), David Heintz, Dan Heintz (Ilona) and Susan Heintz; Elizabeth Heintz of Texas; Alva Theresa Stone of Tallahassee; from Jacksonville, John Stone, Jr., Bill Stone (Janan), Frank Stone (Eva), Chris Stone (Jennifer) and Mark Stone (Carlisle), and 14 great grandchildren.
