NOBLE GRANT ABBOTT, a well known farmer and stockman lives five miles east of Stockton. He was born only a few miles from his present residence on December 28, 1907, and received his elementary education at Alder Rural school in Jefferson Township. He then enrolled at Stockton High School, and after graduation attended Southwest Missouri State Teachers College at Springfield, Missouri earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

Noble had a varied employment career prior to 1947. His first position was that of high school teacher at the Anderson, Missouri High School from 1931-33. He then went to California where he had employment with Standard Oil Company; the Permanente Metals Corporation; and for the California State Department of Employment.

In 1948, Mr. Abbott served on a special county Board of Education whose purpose was to consolidate the small districts. The Board organized the Stockton R-1, and the El Dorado R-2 districts, which encompassed most of the rural schools of the County. He also served on the Cedar County Republican Central Committee, and in 1952, was elected County Representative to the State Legislature, where he served three terms until 1958, in the 67th, 68th, and 69th General Assemblies of the State of Missouri.

Noble was a Protestant: a member of the Masonic Lodge; and his hobbies was hunting, fishing, and the raising of pure bred Angus Cattle.

Noble was never married.
