Mrs. Delia A. Armacost, 94, well known resident of the
Grace community, near Hampstead, died Thursday evening,
March 1, 1962, following a lengthy illness at her home, Black Rock Road,
She was the widow of Joseph F. Armacost
and daughter of the late Richard and Mary Hager Martin.
She was a lifelong member of Grace Methodist Church, Black
Rock Road, very active in all phases of church activities and
was a life member of the Maryland Woman's Christian Temperance Union.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur W. Cole, with
whom she resided; two sons, Raymond F. Armacost Sr., Upperco, and
G. Wayson Armacost, Hampstead; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren
and two brothers, Denton O. Martin and Benjamin O. Martin, both of Hampstead.
The Tipton-Eline Funeral Home, Hampstead, had charge
of arrangements. Funeral services were held at
Grace Methodist Church, Black Rock Road, Sunday March 4 at 2 p.m. with her pastor,
Rev. Richard F. Karpel, and Rev. Melvin E. Lededer, a former pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Grace Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edgar, Roland and Russell Armacost, Edgar, Gilbert and William Martin, all nephews.
