Funeral Services Held.
The funeral of William C. Gordinier, who died at his home in Sheridan avenue on Sunday night as the result of paralysis, took place on Wednesday.
On Tuesday evening services were preached at his home here by Rev. F. M. Webster of the Congregational church. At 6 a. m., Wednesday, the remains were taken to Grant Park, his former home, where the interment took place at Union Corner cemetery.
The funeral services were preached at Grant Park's First Baptist church by Rev. Woodhull of Villa Grove, Ill., assisted by Rev. Early of Grant Park.
These services were very impressive and were largely attended by friends of the deceased, who had turned out to pay their last respects to the departed, who had been a long resident of their city.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordinier moved here from Grant Park about four years ago, and purchased their home in Sheridan avenue.
They became very popular and, although Mr. Gordinier has been an invalid for many years from injuries received while in the civil war, there were but few people who did not become acquainted with the old gentleman.
Mr. Gordinier was 81 years and 6 months old at the time of his demise. Although being confined to this bed for several weeks, his death was a great shock to all. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Mary Gordinier, and his children, Mrs. Nettie Rhodes, of Kansas; Mrs. J. F. Cooking ham, of Danville, Ill.; Grant Gordinier of Momence, Ill.; Mrs. Mayme Britton of this city, and a stepson, Dr. G. H. Hoskins, also of this city.
