CLAUDE R. JENKINS
Claude R. Jenkins, 71, died suddenly Wednesday at his home in Rifton. Mr. Jenkins, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Irving Jenkins was born May 14, 1892, at Clintondale. Upon his retirement several months ago he was on the maintenance staff of the State University College, New Paltz. Prior to that time he owned and operated his own farm. His wife, the former Lily Relyea died several years ago. He was a member of the New Paltz Fire Department, the New Paltz and the Plutarch Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving are a son Earl Jenkins of Rifton; two sisters, Ethelyn Passmore of Springfield, N.J. and Mrs. Jeanette Svenson of Havertown, Pa.; two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday 2:30 p.m. at the Pine Funeral Home, Inc., New Paltz. The Rev. G.J. Wullschleger officiated. Burial was in New Paltz Rural Cemetery.
