Louis Engelhart, born in Iowa, moved with his parents as a child to the Davenport area of Washington State at the turn of the century where he grew up. He met and married Florence Naomi Hoskins in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, 7 Aug 1914. By the 1920 Census they had moved to Pendleton, Umatilla Co., Oregon where Florence's grandparents lived. There they had three children: Maurice (Mutt) Louis Engelhart b. 15 Apr 1920, Harold James Engelhart, b 15 Oct 1921, and Naomi M. (Sis) Engelhart b. 17 Oct 1923. They moved to Seattle in 1926 and settled in the Mount Lake Terrace area north of Seattle in 1946. Louis operated a family concrete and cement finishing business from the late 20's to the early 50's in the greater Seattle area.
