Lakeland, FL - Mr. Robert Curtis Dawkins, 22, of 7357 Gunstock Drive, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Lakeland Regional Hospital.
A native of Charlotte, NC, he was a son of Robert Dawkins and Myrtle Foster Dawkins. He was a member of First Baptist Institutional Church of Lakeland, FL. He graduated from Lake Gibson High School Class of 2000. He also attended Polk Community College and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 2002, where he served as a Munitions Specialist.
Surviving are one son, Jaylnn Vaughan of Lakeland, FL; one brother, Andre Dawkins of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Shaunette Dawkins of Spartanburg, SC; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Janie Foster of Inman, SC; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Allie Dawkins of Rock Hill, SC.
Funeral services with Military Rites will be held on Saturday, May 14th at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Pastor Charles J. J. Jackson, III officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the home of an uncle, Mr. Raymond Dawkins, 154 Stribling Circle, Spartanburg.
