Funeral services for Mr. Joe Adams, age 70 of Ashland, will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Ashland with Rev. Malinda Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashland City Cemetery.

Mr. Adams passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Clay County Hospital. A native and life-long resident of Clay County, he graduated from Clay County High School and attended Auburn University. For over 35 years Mr. Adams was co-owner of Southland Manufacturing and was also a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church of Ashland. He was a six-year veteran of the Alabama Army National Guard and had served with the 127th Medical Group in Ashland. Joe was a long-time Auburn fan who loved to wear his Orange and Blue.

Mr. Adams is survived by one brother, Don Adams (Anita) of Ashland; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Tucker Adams and daughters, Sydni and Shelby; Tammy Barton and daughters, Molly and Gracie; and Robby Kennedy and daughters, Whitney and Hannah; several extended family members and friends and his beloved pet, Cam.

He was preceded in death by his parents: William Cecil "WC" Adams and Winnie Tant Adams and his wife, Evelyn Adams.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Mack Stewart, Perry Browning, Danny Browning, Jason Watkins, Jamie Browning and Ken Burroughs.

Honorary pallbearers will be former employees of Southland Manufacturing and Johnny Rhines, Lofton Smith, Wayne Smith, Buster Robertson, Harold Saxson, Rayford Brand, Bob Fortenberry, Wendell Patterson, Richard Gortney and Mike "Chick" Saxon.
