Bill had a variety of jobs and professions, he worked for the railroads, owned a candy and variety store, a bar in Westmorland, California, and at the time of his death a campground in Solana Beach, California.
Bill died from a massive heart attack in November, 1946.
At the time of his death he was survived by his wife Viola, four children, and 3 grandchildren. Following his death 6 more grandchildren were born.
