Effie Golden Emberson Stone, age 104 formerly of Henry died February 23, 2013 at Fork Mountain Rest Home, Rocky Mount, VA. She was born January 5, 1909 in Franklin County to Wade Jackson Emberson and Sallie Harriet Mason Emberson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Charlie Stone; daughter, Nellie Stone; son, Nelson Eugene Stone; sisters, Wilda Holley, Matilda Wray, Ludia Young, Addie Quinn, Rosie Emberson and Lillie Holley; brother, John Emberson. She is survived by her daughters, Jewel Cooper of Simpsonville, SC, Ida Shelton of Henry and Grace Lovell of Henry; sons, Charlie Elmer Stone of Bassett and Curtis F. Stone of Spencer; daughter-in-law, Jean Stone of Henry; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Town Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Her family will receive friends 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Town Creek Cemetery Fund or Fork Mountain Rest Home.
