Shirley Louise Gillespie Christensen, 82, Zionsville, IN passed away on February 21, 2013.

Shirley worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as a claims supervisor. She loved to travel and visited Ireland. She and her best friend Martha Adams had many adventures together including a paddlewheel trip down the Mississippi and organizing and leading a 7 day 110 mile Girl Scout hiking trip in Neb.

One of Shirley's joys was volunteering at the Women's Prison in Indianapolis and working with the Grandmothers group. As a member of Kiwanis International, she spent many hours in community service. Shirley was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge.

She loved her Colts, Fever and Pacers, and attended many sporting events. She was an avid chef and enjoyed making her own Pasta and Ice Cream. Shirley loved her Scotty dogs Jill and Annie.

She is survived by her children Lawrence M. Christensen (Maridan), Crystal Christensen Van Meter (Dr. Charles D.) and Beth Ann Pintal (James), grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents, friend Martha Adams, her sister Lois Hoefling and brother Jim Gillespie.
