Leo D. Brown, 67, Granby, died at 6:35 a.m. May, 24, 1993, at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, after a two month illness.

Mr. Brown was born Jan. 26, 1926, in Granby and was a lifelong Granby resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Operating Engineers Local #16-B at Springfield. He was employed by Snyder Construction Co., Joplin, for 26 years as an operating engineer before his retirement. His first wife, Faye Brown, preceded him in death. He married Helen Grant Franks on Jan. 31, 1975, in Granby. She survives.

Additional survivors include; three daughters, Patricia Ray, Amarillo, Texas, Lola Fosdick, Granby, and Maria Smith, Sarcoxie, a son Evert Franks, Neosho, a brother, Andrew Brown, Miami, Okla., two sisters, Emaline Platner, Joplin, and Flo McCrary, Granby, 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Clark Funeral Home, Granby, with Rev. Larry Starks officiating.

Burial will be in Granby Memorial Cemetery, Pallbearers will be Evert Franks, Elmer Fosdick, Larry Crow, Quenton Platner, Phillip Platner and Lance Lane.
