Marshall R. Bailey was born in Bridgeton, R.I., son of John H.& Della L. (Melson) Bailey, and lived in Holden since 1960. He was a graduate of Burrillville, RI, High School and attended the University of Rhode Island. He was a member of First Congregational Church in Holden, the Rhode Island Genealogical Society and the Institute of Elecrical and Electronic Engineers. He was also a former member of the Lions Club International.
His first wife, Selma I.(Johnson)Bailey died in 1972.

HOLDEN. Marshall R. Bailey, 75, and his wife Leona G. (Giffin) Bailey were killed in a two- car crash Saturday, in Liberty, Maine.
Mr. Bailey was an electrical engineer at Morgan Construction Co.for 16 years, retiring in 1975
From 1941 to 1960 he worked in various locations for General Electric.
Mr. & Mrs. Bailey celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary last November.
They leave a sn, Jeffrey H.Bailey of Oakdale; four daugters, Joan McKenzie, wife of Craig Rowley of Hebron, Conn., Jean McKenzie of Plymouth; Marsha S. Bailey of San Clemente, Calif. and Barbara A. Bailey, wife of Albert Linkous of Vinton, VA.; and eight grandchildren.
Mr.Bailey also leaves a brother, Atwood H. Bailey of Pascoag, R.I. and a sister, Lettie L., wife of Trefflea Cross of Putnam.
Burial was in South Putnam Cemetery.
