Betty Campbell Horton, 93, of Wayside, Kansas died Wednesday February 20, 2013 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Betty was born January 15, 1920 in Neodesha, Kansas the daughter of Joe and Georgetta (McIntosh) Campbell.

She grew up in Lafontaine, Kansas and graduated from the Lafontaine School System. She then attended Pittsburg State University receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Education.

On July 9, 1944 Betty was united in marriage to Hubert Jones Horton and the couple made their home in Wayside, Kansas. Hubert preceded Betty in death in October, 1978.

Betty worked as a teacher in Wayside, Kansas and Lafontaine and Eureka, Kansas.

She was a homemaker and wonderful mother.

She was a member of the Wayside Christian Church.

Survivors include one son Jack and wife Patty of Independence, KS, two granddaughters Lindsey and Jacque Horton and grandson John Horton; three daughters Susan Veith and husband Lee of Wichita, KS grandson Douglas Veith, granddaughter Heather Rectanus and husband Brian and two great-grandsons Lucian and Nathaniel Rectanus; Daughter Ruth McKee and husband Phillip of Independence, KS, grandson Chris McKee and wife Sue, grandson Patrick McKee and wife Mariza, granddaughter Jenny McKee Troyer and husband Jason, great granddaughters Gwendolyn and Juliana Troyer, daughter Kathy Schiefelbein and husband John of Ely, Minnesota, grandson Andy Schiefelbein, granddaughter Alison Hall and husband Andrew.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joe Campbell.
