JEROME: Elliott Earl Randall, 81, of Jerome, died Friday January 11, 2002 at his home.

He was born Oct. 31, 1920 at Centerville, Utah, the son of Alfred W. and Ada Tingey Randall, the third of seven sons. Elliott was raised on a farm and enjoyed working alongside his father and brothers.

He attended schools in Centerville and graduated from Davis High School in 1938.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served in the Southern States Mission from 1941 until 1943. On June 8, 1945 he married Shirley Mae Nethercott in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They built a home next to his parents in Centerville and Elliott delivered produce and then oil for Adams and Randall Distributing. In 1964 the family moved to Jerome where he began farming. Elliott and Shirley later divorced.

On January 9, 1970, Elliott married Mary Alice Thorne Gifford in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They purchased a farm north of Jerome. In 1988 he retired from farming and then later sold the farm. He and Mary Alice began spending their winters in Yuma and their summers in Jerome.

He was an active member of the Jerome Chapter of the Good Sam Club, belonged to the Twin Star Riders in Utah and Jerome County Mounted Sheriff's Posse. He had served as president and board member in the riding clubs and loved to ride and participate in the jamborees and drills. He also loved to fish and hunt when he had time and loved working in his home garden and sharing the fruits of his labor. During the winters in Arizona, he enjoyed playing shuffleboard, golf and visiting his numerous friends from everywhere. Elliott never met a stranger.

As an active church member he served in various callings, took an active part in church sports and played in several all church softball tournaments as a young man. At the time of his death he was a member of the Jerome Sixth Ward High Priest Group.
