Bernice "Bea" Dreesen
Dreesen, Bernice "Bea" 84, died peacefully, on Wednesday Feb. 6, 2013. She was born on Sep. 1, 1928 in New York City. She and her sister Sylvia were the children of Anna and Joseph Sachs.
Bernice graduated from Bloomfield High School class of 1946. She then went to secretarial school, and became a secretary at Ketchum and McDougal in Roseland, New Jersey, where she met her first husband, Richard McFadyen. They lived in Montclair and then Essex Fells, New Jersey.
After the death of her first husband, she married Ronald Dreesen in 1971. In 1980, they moved from Essex Fells to Bernardsville, New Jersey, where they lived out their days in the beautiful 250 year-old stone home, they lovingly restored. Mrs. Dreesen was a past president of the National ALS Foundation in New York, and an active contributor to local historic preservation committees. She was a passionate supporter of the environment, a gardener and antique collector. She is survived by her son Richard McFadyen Jr,, and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Iris.

Memorial services will be held at The Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church, 1 E. Oak St., Basking Ridge, New Jersey on Saturday, February 16 at 10:00 am.
