Sidney was born on November 5, 1933 in Jackson, MS, to the late Sidney Sr. and Dorothy Jane Adler.
He bravely served his country in two major conflicts of Korea and Vietnam and was promoted through the enlisted ranks to the rank of Captain before he retired after more than 20 years of exemplary and faithful service.
Mr. Adler was an avid golfer, music enthusiast, and trumpet player. He also passionately enjoyed watching his four sons and grandchildren engage in athletics. Sidney positively influenced many young lives both within the military and civilian realms.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mrs. Joan Adler; eldest son John; second son Sid III; and third son Eric.
He was preceded in death by his beloved youngest son Ronne and his precious granddaughter Joanie.
The relatives and friends of Mr. Sidney Adler Jr. are invited to attend his funeral services, February 23, 2013, at 2:30 pm, at the Cokesbury United Methodist Church in North Charleston. Burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 pm until 8 pm, at the Cokesbury UMC in North Charleston.
