Mary Wilford McMichael Young, 96 of Lousivlle, formerly of Washington County, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at the Georgetown Manor Nursing Home in Lousivlle.
A native of Washington County, she was born on November 11, 1903, to the late Oren and Nancy Crume McMichael.
Mary was a member of the Baptist Church and a home-maker. Mrs. young was also a resident of Arkansas for 50 years before returning to Kentucky.
Survivors include one sister, Anna Mae Powell of Springfield; a special friend, Ella Mae Hall of Louisville; a niece by marriage who cared for her, Helen McMichael of Louisville; a half-sister, Minnie Pearl Skeeters of Louisville; three half-brothers, Leroy McMichael of Springfield, Johnny McMichael of Louisville, and Elwood McMichael of Jacksonville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Young; two sisters, Sylvia Clark, and Thelma Young; two brothers, Albert M. McMichael and Virgil McMichael; four half-brothers, William M. McMichael, James McMichael, Hyatt McMichael, and Raymond Hubert McMichael; and four half-sisters, Madge Croake, Bessie Taylor, Elizabeth McMichael and Geneva Lewis.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 24,2000 at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Heneisen, former pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was on Cemetery Hill. Springfield, Ky.
Pallbearers were Mitchell Reynolds, Bob Walker, Bobby Hodgen, William E. Hardin, Kenneth Davis, and John Cobb.
