Adeline Lucinda Hines was born June 07, 1855 in Jackson Parish, Louisiana to W. Ford Hines and Julia Ann Rye. Some say her middle name was Genevieve, others Jenanuine and some have differences in the order of these names. In all of the written sources I have, including her father's will and her death certificate, only "Adeline" or "Adeline L." can be found. So for the time being, lets accept Lucinda as the name represented by the "L" and place it after Adeline as shown in the referenced sources. When someone comes up with an authentic souce document we can revisit how we list her name. I personally am comfortable including the names she most commonly used in the title herein and putting this explanation here in the text and letting each person draw their on conclusion. (I hope I don't get in too much hot water here. WG)

Adeline moved to McLennan County, Texas with her father and her siblings sometime between 1865 and 1870 and initially lived on a farm west of Waco.

Adeline married Robert Sidney Patterson in Cameron, Milam County, Texas on October 05, 1873.

After marriage, they moved into the town of Waco where Robert worked for the Katy Railroad and also opened his own blacksmith shop. In 1878 they moved again to Ennis in Ellis County where Robert worked for the railroad and opened a blacksmith shop.
