AUBURN - My aunt, Ruth V. (Sinkus) Mitchell, 77, formerly of 29 Warren Road, a retired hospital worker, died yesterday in the Lutheran Home, Worcester, after an illness.

Her husband, John L. Mitchell, died in 1967. She left two sons, John C. Mitchell who joined her in heaven on 6/8/07 and Kenneth W. Mitchell of Milford, CT; three grandchildren; two great-grandsons; nephews and nieces. A son, James, died in 1952, at the tender age of 4.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Charles and Victoria (Balukonis) Sinkus, and lived here most of her life. Her brother, Albert C. Sinkus died on March 4, 1997. Another brother died as a baby, Louis Sinkus.

She graduated from Commerce High School, Worcester.

She worked at American Steel & Wire for several years and later in the service department at University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, retiring several years ago. She was a former member of St. Joseph's Church.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. in the Garden Chapel of Arthur S. Manzi & Son Funeral Home, 179 Shrewsbury St., Worcester. Burial was in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour was held at the funeral home.

Love,
Susan
