Homer C. Bane, 78, of Finley, died Thursday, September 27, 2001 at Methodist Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital. Homer C. Bane, is the son of Thomas Henry Bane and Zellar E. Little. He was born Nov 2,1923 in Dyer County, TN.
He was a farmer, a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church and attended McCullough Chapel Baptist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home with Brother Buddy Grizzle officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Millie Bane of Finley; two daughters, Loretta Simmons and Kathy Jones, both of Dyersburg; a sister, Mary Geneva Weatherly of St. Louis, Mo.; three brothers, Joe Don Bane of St. Louis, Mo., Billy Jo Bane of Dyersburg and Edward Bane of Finley; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara McNeely; a brother, C.B. Bane; and a grandchild. Pallbearers will be Tony McNeely, Allen McNeely, Bill Mancell Jr., Tommy Bane, Lanny Bane and James Hutson.
