Following a battle with cancer, in 1926 Clara was first buried in the small churchyard cemetery adjoining what then was Union Church, east of Salem, off highway 32, on county road 422 just north of the turn off for 4220, (37.6486554, -91.4415329). (Verified from tax assessor's map.)
In 1959 the church had been abandoned, and her (now twice) widowed husband had her body moved to Cedar Grove, a large cemetery, owned and then better maintained, by the City of Salem. The original Union Church Cemetery has since been restored and now is maintained. It was not marked on the Find A Grave map of cemeteries, so I just added it to the Find A Grave cemetery list.
That Union Church may have been the church of her 1913 marriage (only 10 years earlier) to Jesse W Bowers. Family story is that a few days prior to her death, she gave birth to a baby which did not survive and the baby was buried in her coffin, at her feet.
