She was born May 9, 1922, in Davenport, Neb., to the Rev. William and Amelia Hoffmann, the 12th of 14 children.
She graduated from Hoover High School in San Diego in 1940.
She married George E. McBride Sr. on Aug. 14, 1942.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice (Pat) Raver of Rantoul and Jacqueline McBride of Dallas; and a son, George (Julie) McBride Jr. of Panama City, Fla. Also surviving are five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Hoffman of San Diego, Calif.
