Gilbert Allen "Gil" Cannon, 65, of Mansfield passed away at 1:07 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 17, 2013) at his residence.
He was born Sept. 14, 1947 in Xenia, a son of Robert and Helen Smith Cannon. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Cannon and sisters, Wanda Jording and Tina Cannon. He married Cindy Glee Osborne on Sept. 22, 1978 in Mahomet. She survives.
He is also survived by a son, Michael Cannon; two daughters, Michelle Shoemaker and Stacie Cannon; four grandchildren, Cole, Kyle, Kayla and Gaige; two brothers, James Cannon and Richard (Pam) Cannon and a sister, Roberta (Mike) Matthews.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
