Raymond Albert Kubick Jr.

Surrounded by family, he left this world to join the love of his life Doris.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and reared in Newark, New Jersey. Son of the late Raymond A Kubick and Helen Warvel.
Dad graduated from Central High School in Newark in 1943. He served in the Army Air Corps from July 1943 to February 1946. He received a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1950 and a Master of Science degree in 1959, both from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Most of his career was spent in the process measurement and control instrumentation field. He retired in 1990 as Senior Project Manager from the Ralph M Parsons Company, Pasadena, CA. He taught Instrumentation and Process Control courses at Newark College of Engineering from 1964 until 1972, when Parsons moved their headquarters from Manhattan to Pasadena. His work took him to Alaska, Iran and Mexico City. He was extremely proud of his work and would often give the family slide show presentations which detailed the various projects he was responsible for.
Dad was a Life Fellow of the Instrument Society of America and a Life Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He had served as Director and Vice-President of the ISA. He was elected a Fellow in the Instrument Society of America in 1971 and a registered Professional Engineer in California in 1975.
Dad loved traveling, visiting his children and their families in the San Francisco Bay Area, walking and was known for his very healthy appetite.
Predeceased July 28, 2009 by his wife Doris Rose Schoenemann Kubick, to whom he was married for 56 years. Surviving are children (all of whom became engineers): Raymond (Denise), Robert (Vicki), Karen (Jim Salerno), and five grandchildren: David, Dylan, Ryan, Matthew and Colin.
