Waukee- Staci Burke, 54, died peacefully at her home after a hard and courageous fight against ovarian cancer for over 7 years.

Staci was born to Jake and Jacque Burke in Fort Dodge, IA on August 11, 1958. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1976. She attended the University of Iowa earning her B.A. and then continued her education at Iowa State University, where she received a Master's Degree. In 1985 she started working in sales and sales management for Northwestern Bell Yellow Pages. After 27 years of service she retired in April 2012.

Staci loved traveling, music, concerts with her friends, dancing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and spending time with family and friends. She had a passion for life. We will all miss her radiant smile, her beautiful blue eyes and her generosity. Most of all, we will miss her love. We feel very blessed that she was our wife, daughter, sister, Aunt, and friend.

Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband, Phil Rawson (Phil's children Eric, Jodi, Tanya and Jacob), her mother, Jacque, her brother Tom (Peggy) and their sons Colin and Jake Burke; and her sister Shawn (Paul Scott) and their children Caroline, Meredith and Burke Scott.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jake Burke.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday (February 27, 2013) at Hope Lutheran Church, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, with Chaplain Pam Avaux, officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A celebration of her life will follow the service at Star Bar, 2811 Ingersoll Ave, Des Moines.
