Kenneth Howard Askins, Jr., age 74 of Decherd, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. He was born on Jan. 11, 1938 in Fayetteville, the son of the late Kenneth Howard and Audrey (Heath) Askins. Mr. Askins worked as a machinist. Survivors include his son, David (Tina) Askins of Athens; daughter, Alicia (Bruce) Hill of Decherd; two sisters, Brenda (Lynneth) Redford of Winchester and Kay (Kenneth) Goss of Southaven, MS; grandchildren, Jessica Hill, Bryant Askins, Andy Askins, Derek Hill, Courtney Askins and Cristiona Askins. The family received friends on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Teddy McCallie officiating.
