Dorothy Nell (Allen) Ward
Feb. 24, 1930 - June 22, 2001

Dorothy Nell Ward, 71, of Kerens passed away Friday, June 22, 2001 at Baylor Health Care Hospital in Dallas.

A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Ross and Johnson Mortuary Chapel.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church, 401 Fourth St., Kerens, with the Rev. Earnest Betts officiating.

Interment will follow at Samaria Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Danny Owens, Jerry Sayles, Thurston Lindsey, Henry Lindsey, Wallace Lindsey, Jeff Baker and Billy Bartee.

Honorary pallbearers will be Byron Lindsey and Otis Hall.

Mrs. Ward was born Feb. 24, 1930 in Navarro County.

She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she served on the hospitality committee.

She also was retired from Curtis Mathis Manufacturing Company in Athens.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Booker T. Lincoln and Douglas Ward; and son, Morris Lincoln.

Mrs. Ward is survived by her daughters, Edna Bryant and Lizzie Lawrence, both of Kerens, Ruth Baker, Ginger Allen, Vanessa Wilson and Judy Ward, all of Dallas; sons, Leonard Lincoln, James Lincoln, Emerson Ward, Carl Ward and Terrance Ward, all of Kerens, and Lennard Reed of Dallas; brothers, Hez Allen Jr. of Grand Prairie and Charles Allen of Los Angeles, Calif.; sister, Irene Lott of Kerens; 29 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
