"Daniel P. Deeney, a retired machinist for the Frankford Arsenal, died Sunday. He was 83 and lived in the Olney section of Philadelphia. He was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the Church of the Incarnation, the Incarnation Usher Society, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, American Legion Post 388, Veterans of WWI Post 2692 and Lincoln Barracks No. 3484. He is survived by his wife, the former Gertrude Carroll; two sisters, Sister Mary Charles Deeney L.S.A.O. and Anastasia Deeney; and brother- and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Carroll. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Church of the Incarnation, 5th and Lindley streets. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham Avenue above Easton Road, Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County. Friends may call after 7 tonight at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 5th Street at Chelten Avenue."
