"Tally" is the daughter of Freeman and Leo Hazel (Eyestone) Talbot. Eileen worked as a welder's assistant, helping to build ships during World War II in Oregon and later became a school teacher in Nebraska. She also worked in the Weather Bureau in Nebraska before relocating to Bergen in 1956. She retired in 1983 as director of the Byron-Bergen Library; was the Bergen Village Historian; member of the Triangle Club, Bergen Business and Civic Association, Bergen Historical Society, Republican Women's Club, league of Woman Voters and Historians of Genesee County. She married Earl Almquist in 1949. They have three sons and two daughters.
