Virginia Evelyn Tibbals Bobbitt, 85, 1149 College Street, Bowling Green, died Thursday, October 2, at Rosewood Manor, following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Somerset on December 10, 1900, the daughter of the late Frank and Alma Owens Tibbals. She was a former school teacher, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, exclusive secretary for the Red Cross and a member of the Chautauqua Book Club. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Somerset.

Survivors include two sons, Harry Bobbitt, Jr., Bowling Green, and Jack Bobbitt, Georgetown; two sisters, Ruth Tankerly, Tampa, Florida, and Ella Bishop, Texas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harry Bobbitt, who died in March 1980.

Private graveside services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Somerset Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Wilhelm officiating.

Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery.

Somerset Undertaking Company is in charge of arrangements.
