Funeral Services At The Home 5 o'clock This Afternoon.

J. M. Beckham died this morning at 4 o'clock at his home on North Vienna street, having suffered a stroke of paralysis last Sunday morning from which he was never again conscious.

Mr. Beckham, the son of J. M. Beckham, Sr., gallant Confederate soldier, who fought in the battle of Mansfield, was born August 4, in Salem, Lincoln parish. He had been a resident of Ruston for the past thirty years and until recently was a successful hotel and restaurant man, retiring from that capacity when marked by declining health.

Mr. Beckham is survived by his widow, Mrs. Winnie Hinton Beckham and two daughters, Mrs. W. T. Parrish of Ruston and Mrs. Dwight W. Garrison of Kingsville, Texas also one son, Harold Beckham of Ruston, and a number of grandchildren.

Funeral ceremonies were held at the family residence this afternoon at 5 o'clock. Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of McCook Funeral Parlors.

Active pallbearers were: Joe Blondin, Mayor Charles O. Goyne, B. H. Rainwater, V. A. Davidson, W. E. McBride, George Shinpoch, Bob Winn and T. A. Wright.

Honorary pallbearers were: Clay Skinner, J. A. Jimmerson, E. L. Tuten, Jim Berry, V. L. King, D. E. Ivey, Roy Cook, Dr. C. H. Laurence, W. D. Risinger, Mack Risinger and Barksdale Colvin.
